π November Tips from Your ISAs!
1. Stay Cozy, Canada-Style!
The temperature’s dropping — time to embrace layering! Invest in a good pair of waterproof boots, gloves, and a warm hat. Bonus: hot chocolate and warm soup are essential study fuels this time of year. βπ§£
2. Winter is Coming… for Your Documents Too!
If your study permit or passport expires in the next 6 months, now’s the time to renew. Processing times can get longer during the holidays, so plan ahead! β
3. Try a Classic Canadian November Activity
Go for a walk in the crisp fall air, check out a local holiday market, or try ice skating if the rinks are open in your area. βΈοΈπ
4. Stay Connected
As days get shorter, it’s normal to feel a little homesick. Join a club, study group, or campus event — your community here at SLC is one of your best supports! π
5. Bonus Fun Fact:
November 11 is Remembrance Day in Canada — a time to reflect and honour those who served in the military. You’ll often see people wearing red poppies as a symbol of remembrance. At 11:00 am, public spaces in your city will observe a moment of silence, and you may hear cannons and bagpipes played over speakers or announcements.
Don't be alarmed.
