SLC Student ID Card

Your SLC Student ID Card is an important part of your student experience. It provides access to a variety of college services, facilities, and resources throughout your time at St. Lawrence College.

Who Should Apply for a Student ID Card?

Full-Time Students

  • New full-time students who have paid their deposit or full tuition
  • Returning full-time students who:
    • Did not receive a card in the previous year
    • Lost their card
    • Have an invalid card expiry date
    • Starting a new program

Additional eligibility

  • Part-time students ($10 fee)
  • Apprenticeship students (full-time or part-time) ($10 fee)
  • Academic Upgrading students ($10 fee)
  • Dual Credit / OYAP students

Choosing your Card

First Card
If you have never had a SLC Student ID Card before.

Replacement Card
Current students may request a replacement Student ID card for the following reasons:

  • Starting a new program (replacement fee included in tuition)
  • Lost card ($20 replacement fee)
  • Legal name change (must be completed through the college before submitting a request)
  • Preferred name change (SNAP Identity must be completed before submitting a request)
  • Incorrect card expiry date
  • Other approved card corrections

Requesting your Card

After submitting your Student ID Card request, you will receive updates by email through CampusGroups to your SLC student email only.

Personal email accounts (Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc.) are not used for updates.

You will receive the following status updates based on your request

  • Pending Approval: Your request has been received and is in the queue for processing. Once you receive this status, you may not receive another update until your card has been printed and is ready for pickup.
  • On-Hold: Your account currently has an admissions hold. Your card will be approved after the hold is removed
  • Rejected: Your request cannot be processed. The reason for the rejection will be sent to your SLC Student Email.
  • Approved: Your Student ID Card has been printed and is ready for pickup.

After “Pending Approval,” you may not receive another update until your card is ready for pickup.

Receiving your ID Card

Pickup Location: Student Services unless otherwise directed
Pickup Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-3:00pm
Required for pickup: Please bring Photo ID for pickup

  • New Student / New Program / Card Expiry Wrong:
    • September start students: Card pickup begins in August
    • January-start students: Card pickup begins in December
    • May-start student Card pickup begins in April
  • Replacement Cards - Name Change / Lost Card (current students only)
    • You will receive an approval email when your card is ready for pickup
  • Online Students
    • Can be either picked up at their closest campus or mailed to their address

Why you should use and not lose your SLC ID Card

Access:

Losing the card can restrict access to essential services and facilities, disrupting daily activities and academic work.

Convenience

The card consolidates many functions, reducing the need to carry multiple forms of identification or payment methods.

Cost:

Replacing a lost or damaged card incurs a $20 fee, and additional fees may apply for certain services.

Security

The card helps ensure that only authorized individuals can access certain areas, protecting students and college property.

Student ID Card Do's & Don'ts

DO: Keep your card safe & with you at all times on campus.

DON'T: Leave freely in your bag, bend, crack, or hole punch.

DO: Keep your card in a plastic holder or sleeve, as you must pay a $20.00 replacement fee if your card is damaged.

DON'T: Give your card to others for use.  This is against the Student Code of Conduct and may result in serious academic consequences.
